Mr. Richard Raymond Pope, 82, of Kinard, FL, passed away Wednesday morning, March 17, 2010, in Panama City.
Richard was born in July 24, 1927, in Bradenton, FL, and had lived in Kinard since 1998, coming from Manatee County. He, along with his wife, owned and operated a drapery business in Bradenton. Mr. Pope was an avid hunter and fisherman and truly loved the outdoors. He was one of the original pioneer families of Bradenton.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Mary Louise Pope.
Survivors include one daughter, Marlene Pope Young, and her husband, James, of Kinard; two sisters, Lola Pope Powell of Ellenton, FL, and Lucy Pope Wager of Bradenton; two grandchildren, Eric M. Overstreet and Richard J. Overstreet; two great-grandchildren, Emily Jean Overstreet and Shelby Lynn Overstreet.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, at 11 a.m. (CT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown with Rev. Allen Pitts officiating. Memorialization was by cremation.
