Corin and Shon Peterson, students at Blountstown Middle School, received a special package last Tuesday from LSU Head Coach Les Miles.
Corin and Shon are the children of Nedra Peterson and the former Dave Peterson of Blountstown. Dave Peterson played for the LSU Tigers in 2001-2003. He was a linebacker who was a member of the LSU Tigers’ 2003 BCS National Championship team. Dave was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident on July 17, 2007.
After reading an article on Dave Peterson, Mrs. Hassig’s wheel class at BMS decided to contact Coach Miles on Shon and Corin’s behalf. Coach Miles sent the boys LSU T-shirts, caps, helmet stickers and a personal message autographed by Coach Miles.
This was a complete surprise for the boys and they would like to thank Mrs.Hassig and her class for thinking of them through the remembrance of their father.
