For decades, Maxie Waldorff has been giving of his time to help improve Calhoun County and he was honored Thursday night at the Chamber of Commerce Banquet when he was named Citizen of the Year.
Chamber President Elam Stoltzfus noted that, when the old airport was three feet under water, Waldorff led the effort to relocate it to the Industrial Park where it is today. A fearless leader, Waldorff even sky dived at age 70 during the grand opening of the new airport! Over the years, he has secured millions in funding for this project.
Also honored was Margie Mason.
Also honored was Margie Mason who was named Volunteer of the Year. Mason is known for the countless hours she dedicates to the Rotary Club and Eastern Star events.
The banquet’s featured speaker was Ralph Yoder who shared an inspiring message on what Calhoun County has to offer.
