The Calhoun County Senior Citizens Center on Cayson Street has relocated to a temporary 24’ x 64’ facility across the street until repairs resulting from Hurricane Michael can be completed.
According to Senior Citizens Director Marilyn Russell, the 7,500 sq. ft. building will have to be gutted and could take up to seven months or more to complete.
In the meantime, meals will continue to be served at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning at 11:45. Those wishing to enjoy the meals should call 643-4163 to make reservations.
“We had considerable structural damage, but when the repairs are completed, the facility will be bigger and better,” Mrs. Russell noted.
