This week, Mrs. Vicki Bennett and Mrs. Pam Ayers have partnered to host a Literacy Week Celebration in the Media Center.
Each day students have been invited to the Starbooks Café, set up in the Media Center at 7:15, for coffee, cappuccino, donuts and candy treats. During their visit, they have been given the opportunity to browse through and check out the new books on display. They have also spent time reading periodicals and working on computer projects assigned in their classes. Some students have taken advantage of the opportunity to work on FCAT Explorer for their Reading and Math classes.
Each day a drawing was held on the BHS Good Morning Show. The winners were able to select a favorite book from a collection of the latest books. On Friday, a Grand Prize winner received an insulated tote bag filled with a movie, flash drive, candy, mug and a bag of Jeff Vickery’s Big River Coffee.
Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Ayers and BHS students would like to thank Mr. Barber and Mrs. Price for the support and donations that made this enjoyable event possible.
