ORDINANCE NOTICE

IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following Ordinance No. 2010-01 of the City of Blountstown. AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BLOUNTSTOWN, AMENDING SECTION 2-33 ENTITLED “MEETINGS”OF THE CITY OF BLOUNTSTOWN, CODE OF ORDINANCES;PURPOSE; REPEALING CONFLICTING RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

SHALL BE PRESENTED to the City Council, City of Blountstown, for second and final adoption at the Regular City Council Meeting to be held Tuesday, the 9th day of February, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. in the City Council Meeting Room at 17262 NW Angle Street, Blountstown, FL 32424.

This ordinance shall become effective upon final passage as provided by law.

ALL INTERESTED PERSONS desiring to be heard on the adoption of the aforesaid Ordinance No. 2009-04 are cordially invited to be in attendance at this meeting.

COPIES OF THIS ORDINANCE in its entirety may be viewed or obtained at City Hall, 20591 Central Avenue West, Blountstown, Florida 32424 between the working hours of M-F, 7:00A.M. To 4:00P.M.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO USE UNIFORM METHOD OF COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM ASSESSMENTS

Calhoun County, Florida hereby provides notice, pursuant to section 197.3632(3)(a), Florida Statutes, of its intent to use the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem special assessments to be levied within the County, for the cost of providing solid waste services commencing for the Fiscal Year beginning on October 1, 2010 and continuing until discontinued by the County. The County will consider the adoption of a resolution electing to use the uniform method of collecting such assessments authorized by section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, at a public hearing to be held at 5:00 p.m. on February 16, 2010 at the Commission Chamber, 20816 Central Avenue E., Blountstown, FL 32424. Such resolution will state the need for the levy and will contain a legal description of the boundaries of the real property subject to the levy. Copies of the proposed form of resolution, which contains the legal description of the real property subject to the levy, are on file at the Clerk’s Office, 20859 Central Avenue E., Room 130 Blountstown, FL 32424. All interested persons are invited to attend.
In the event any person decides to appeal any decision by the County with respect to any matter relating to the consideration of the resolution at the above-referenced public hearing, a record of the proceeding may be needed and in such an event, such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the public hearing is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence on which the appeal is to be based. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing a special accommodation or an interpreter to participate in this proceeding should contact the County Clerk at 850-674-4545 two (2) days prior to the date of the hearing.

NOTICE TO RECEIVE SEALED BIDS

The Town of Altha will receive sealed bids from any qualified person, company or corporation interested in providing construction services for the following project:

ALTHA WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS – PHASE II
CDBG Contract No. 09DB-4N-02-17-02-N02

This project will include the installation of approximately 16,685± LF of 6” PVC watermain throughout the Town of Altha, 24 fire hydrants, 37 gate valves, re-connection of approximately 123 service connections, directional boring and minor asphalt repairs. Removal of trees within the project limits inside the right of way is also included.

Plans and specifications can be obtained at Preble-Rish, Inc., 20684 Central Avenue, East, Suite 1, Blountstown, Florida 32424, (850) 674-3300. For questions, please call Kristin Brown at (850) 643-2771. The bid must conform to Section 287.133(3) Florida Statutes, on public entity crimes.

Completion date for this project will be 150 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed presented to the successful bidder.

Liquidated damages for failure to complete the project on the specified date will be set at $200.00 per day.

Please indicate on the envelope that this is a sealed bid, for the “Altha Water System Improvements – Phase II”.

Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. Central Time, on February 23, 2010, at the Altha Town Hall, 25586 North Main Street, Altha, Florida 32421, and will be opened and read aloud on February 23, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Central Time. The public is invited to attend. The Town of Altha is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Handicapped Accessible/Fair Housing Jurisdiction.

Proof of Florida Department of Transportation current certificate of qualification in the following work categories is required: Grading, Drainage, Grassing, Seeding and Sodding, Flexible Paving and Hot Plant Mix Bituminous. Primary contractor shall be qualified in a minimum of: Grading, Drainage, Grassing, Seeding and Sodding.

Cost for Plans and Specifications will be $200.00 per set and is non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to PREBLE-RISH, INC.

A Pre-Bid Conference shall be held at the Altha Town Hall, at 9:00 pm Central Time, February 10, 2010. Please call Kristin Brown at (850) 643-2771 with any questions.

The Town of Altha reserves the right to reject any and all bids. All Bids shall remain firm for a period of sixty days after the opening. All bidders shall comply with all applicable State and local laws concerning licensing registration and regulation of contractors doing business to the State of Florida.
