Liberty County Commissioner Kevin Williams (pictured center) presented a $25,000 check to Calhoun-Liberty Hospital Association Board Chairman Laddie Williams (right) at the hospital board meeting Monday.
He commented how pleased the commissioners are with the many improvements in the hospital, all helping to improve services to the citizens of Liberty County. Mr. Laddie Williams thanked the Board of Commissioners for their kind and generous donation. The funds will be used to perform plumbing upgrades and other infrastructure repairs in the hospital.
In other hospital news, Dr. Jerry Skipper is the new president of the medical staff for Calhoun-Liberty Hospital. Elections were held at the medical staff’s quarterly staff meeting in December. Dr. Skipper will replace outgoing president, Dr. Cliff Bristol. Vice president is Dr. Iqbal Faruqi and secretary is Dr Misbah Farooqi.
“We look forward to working with Dr. Skipper as we continue to move the hospital forward,” said Ron Gilliard, the hospital’s CEO and administrator (pictured above at left). He is an outstanding physician and individual and we know he’ll be an exceptional leader of our medical staff as well.”
