The Tigers finished the regular season with a 14-10 record and a #1 seed heading into the district tournament.
The Tigers had a bye in round one of the tournament and had to play the winner of Graceville/Cottondale. Graceville took the win.
On Tuesday, Blountstown took on Graceville in Cottondale for round two of the tournament and came away with a 10-0 win. Jace White picked up the win in relief going 2.1 IP, allowing 1 hit with four strikeouts. Jaxon Ridley was 2-3 at the plate with 2 RBI’s, Tucker Jordan was 2-3, Jordan Jerkins was 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s, and Trent Peacock was 2-3.
On Thursday the Tigers traveled back to Cottondale to take on Holmes County for the District Championship and came away with a 6-5 win and a District Title. Blase O’Bryan got the start on the mound going 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits with 7 strikeouts. Josh Evans picked up the win in relief going the final 2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with 2 strikeouts. Offensively, the Tigers were led by Jordan Jerkins going 2-4 with 2 doubles, Tucker Jordan was 2-4, Jacob Yon was 2-3 with a double and Kyle Skipper was 2-3.
With that win the Tigers will host the first round of regionals on Wednesday at 7:00 against Ponce De Leon. Hope to see you at the game. GO TIGERS!!!!
