On Friday, January 15, BHS is sponsoring a PINK basketball game to raise awareness of and support for victims and survivors of ALL types of cancer. We realize that PINK is the color that represents breast cancer activities, but we are including all types of the disease.
The boys’ junior varsity game begins at 4:30 p.m., the girls’ varsity at 6:00 p.m. and the boys’ varsity at 7:30 p.m. There will be a special ceremony honoring cancer survivors and victims during the half-time of the girls’ game.
We are inviting anyone who wants to show their support to those whose lives have been affected by these diseases to attend the games. All cancer patients and survivors will be admitted free. Regular admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
There will be special refreshments on sale in the gym concession area and booths with medical information will be available.
PINK ribbon cards are available at several local businesses. We are asking all citizens to write the name of someone you want to honor on these cards and they will be on display at the games. If you haven’t seen a card downtown or if you have a business and would like to have cards in your store, please come by BHS and pick some up.
