Mrs. Helen Evelyn Hatcher, 79, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009, in Panama City, FL.

Evelyn was born on August 24, 1930, in Clarksville, FL, and had lived in Calhoun County for most of her life. She worked at the sewing factory in Blountstown for several years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hatcher was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blountstown.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, John Hatcher; grandson, Luke Tolley Johnson; sister, Alene Edwards; parents, Noah and Bertha Baggett; and foster parents, Connie and Mindy Baggett.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Hatcher and his wife, Peggy, of High Springs, FL, Jerry Hatcher and his wife, Diane, of Blountstown, FL, and Zachery Wayne (Tweety) Hatcher and his wife, Robin of Bristol, FL; one daughter, Debbie Hall, and her husband, Ray, of Clarksville, FL; one sister, Lucille Walker, of Winter Haven, FL; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 31, at 11 am (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tom Stallworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Memorial Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 30, from 6 until 8 pm (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home.

All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 850-674-2266).
