The Blountstown Tiny Mite football team ended their season with nine wins and one loss. That one loss came in the league Superbowl, losing to a team they had beaten earlier in the season, Port St. Joe.

Trailing late in the third quarter 20-6, the young Tigers came back and tied the ballgame with 1.1 second left in the fourth quarter. Shad Johnson, quarterback, threw a 67 yard touchdown pass to D’Ante Williams who ran it in. This sent the game into overtime. Each team was given a chance from the 10 yard line to score a touchdown. On fourth down, Port St. Joe scored, but failed to get the extra point. With four downs, Blountstown was unable to score, losing 26-20.

During the regular season, the Blountstown Tiny Mites only allowed one touchdown to be scored against them and that was by Port St. Joe.

Everyone would like to express their appreciation to Rick and Shayee Johnson for their hard work and dedication. Rick is the president of the Calhoun County Football League. Shayee and Rick both work together unselfishly to make sure the league has what it needs and to make sure all activities run smoothly. They are a joy to work with.

We would also like to express our appreciation to the Tiny Mite coaches for their hard work, passion, and dedication to teach these young players the all-American sport. Thanks to Chris O’Bryan for all of his efforts, as well.
