Mr John Lee Tester, age 86, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 2, 2016 at his home in Texas. Born on September 29, 1930 in Calvin, VA he also lived in Michigan and in Clarksville, FL where he retired in 1982 as a conductor for the railroad.
John's special achievements and passions was to serve God and Country. As a veteran of foreign war, John served as a Staff Sergeant in the Korean War in the "Taro Leaf" 24th Infantry Division and a long standing member of Calvary Baptist Church in Blountstown, Fl. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Tester; daughter, Joan Elizabeth Begley; and son, Martin Keith Tester.
Survivors include, 2 daughters, Dorothy Jean Gardner of Texas and Connie Bell and husband, Wayne of Texas; 2 sisters, Evelyn Adeline Lee of VA, and Barbara Jean Day and husband, Kermit of VA; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Joyce Ann Tester of Texas.
Graveside viewing and service will be held 12:00 pm (CST) Wednesday, November 9, 2016 with Reverend Francis Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarksville, FL.
