The Blountstown Fire Department raised $1500 Saturday at their pancake breakfast held at Connie’s Kitchen.
Proceeds from the event will help them refurbish old Engine #2, the department’s 1945 fire engine. “We can't thank the people of Blountstown enough,” says Fire Chief Ben Hall. “And next year, we'll drive the truck to the breakfast!”
Folks came from near and far to help with the fundraiser including a retired Air Force pilot and his wife from Tallahassee who were passing by last year, saw the sign, and stopped in for pancakes.
Chief Hall’s wife, Brooke, and their young daughter, Anna Jo, took their order and struck up a conversation. A year later, the couple returned to show their support for the BFD!
