Mrs. Carolyn Shields, 64, of Blountstown, FL, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in Blountstown.
Carolyn was born on February 13, 1952, in Tampa, FL, to Charles and Ruthie (Alexander) Creel. Before Carolyn retired, she worked for 18 years as a kindergarten teacher for the Calhoun County School System. Carolyn had lived in Blountstown for most of her life and was a member of Macedonia First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruthie Dean Creel.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Jerry Shields, of Blountstown; her father, Charles Creel, of Blountstown; two daughters, Jennifer Lee and husband, Todd, of Blountstown, and Jessica Clark and husband Corey, of Hosford, FL; two brothers, Jerome Creel and wife, Lazelle, of Blountstown, and Craig Allen Creel and wife, Nikki, of Blountstown, FL.; several nieces and nephews; a special caregiver, Frances Smith; and 10 grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa, Emily, Logan, Jody, Cody, Zachary, Coleton, Corbyn, and Addyson.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 26, at 2:00 PM (CDT) at Macedonia First Baptist Church in Blountstown with Reverend Roger King officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 25, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown.
