Joe Ann Benefield Vickery, 72, of Blountstown, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016.

Born in Alford, Florida, December 25, 1943, Joe Ann was the daughter of the late William Henry and Jeanie Suzie (Harris) Benefield. She was a dedicated postal carrier for United States Postal Service.

In addition to her parents, William and Jeanie Benefield, Joe Ann was preceded in death by her brother, George Benefield, and three sisters, Edna Crooms, Betsy Kornegay, and Mable Sims.

Survivors include two daughters, Tami Martin and her husband, Jason, and Margaret Hood and her husband, Jimmy, all of Blountstown; three grandchildren, Brittney Jackson and her fiancé, Bleu, Colby Mullins, and Rylan Hood; two step-grandchildren, Forrest Martin and Kamryn Martin; one great-grandson, her namesake - Chapter Joen Hudson, and a great-granddaughter soon to arrive; two brothers, Daryl Benefield and Eddie Glen Benefield, both of Alford; four sisters, Rosie Benefield of Chipley, Voncile Barnes, Juanita Benefield, and Katherine Boutwell, all of Kynesville; a special niece, Janice Rotenberry; and her best friend, Janet Dykes.

The family received friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, at Adams Funeral Home. The service followed at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Reverend Tim Rhoads officiating. Interment was in Pine Memorial Cemetery.
