A Bristol man remained on the run at press time Tuesday morning after escaping from the Liberty County Jail Sunday night.
Everett Jedadiah Ellis, 30, who was serving an 11 month, 29 day sentence for drug related charges, reportedly escaped from a second floor confinement area. It appeared he made his way onto the roof and took off on foot from there.
According to a press release from Sheriff Nick Finch, corrections officers discovered Ellis was missing around 6:20 p.m. Both air and ground searches have been conducted with assistance from multiple agencies, but were called off when severe weather entered the area around 6 a.m. Monday. A sighting of Ellis was reported around 7 p.m. at
the Crows Corner convenience store in Hosford where State Roads 267 and 20 intersect.
Ellis has brown hair, brown eyes, is approximately 5’7” and 160 pounds. He was wearing a light color shirt, khaki pants and “Croc” style shoes.
Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at 643-2235. Remember, you can remain anonymous. Do not attempt to approach Ellis as it is unknown if he is armed.
The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office has been assisted by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office Air Support Team, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officers, Florida Department of Corrections K-9 tracking teams, and Liberty County Emergency Management. The Sheriff’s Office is now calling on the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force to assist in Ellis’ apprehension.
