Mrs. Lois Caroline Cole, 90, of Altha, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016, in Blountstown, FL.
Lois was born on February 15, 1926, in Calhoun County, FL, to John H. and Flora (Edenfield) Whittington. She was a homemaker and had lived in Calhoun County most of her life. Lois was a member of Victory Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church. Lois was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Flora Whittington; her husband, Jesse Leon Cole; three sons, Robert Cole, George Earl Cole, and Jesse Cole; a daughter, Ruby Cole; four brothers, John Whittington, Houston Whittington, Ralph Whittington, and J.W. Whittington; and a sister, Beulah Lasseter.
She is survived by two sons, John Cole, of Altha, and James Cole and wife, Sue, also of Altha; three daughters, Betty Lynn, Cindy Grantham and husband, Curtis, and Mary Ann Craft and husband, Steve, all of Altha; one brother, Dee Whittington, and wife, Christelle, of Altha; two sisters, Belle Worthington, of Homeville, GA, and Ruby Goodson, of Dallas, TX; two step-daughters, Jewell Johns, and Wanda Crim and husband, Buddy, of Talladega, AL; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9, at 11:00 AM (CDT) at Victory Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Altha with Revered Dwayne Tolbert officiating and Dr. Charlie Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Edenfield Cemetery in Altha. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9, from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM (CDT) at Victory Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Altha.
