Sharon A. Skinner was born in Butcher County, Indiana, on December 13, 1941, and died in Tallahassee, Florida, on April 6, 2016.

She spent the majority of her life in Florida with her most recent residence being in the Shelton’s Corner area of Calhoun County. Ms. Skinner was a retired LPN with the Florida Department of Corrections.

She is survived by three children, Curtis Wayne Lindsey of Cambodia, Jeffery Scott Lindsey of Fresno, California, and DeAndrea L. Barber of Altha, Florida.

She was predeceased by a special son-in-law, Dewey Steven Barber, and her much loved grandmother, Elizabeth Hearn.

Ms. Skinner has a host of family and friends including a beloved brother and his wife, Eugene and Karen Seneff, of Rayville, Louisiana; a dear and treasured friend, Betty Bailey; and people that she loved deeply from Rivertown Community Church in Blountstown, Florida, where she was a member.

Ms. Skinner traveled the world in her life, but in her heart remained an Indiana farm girl. She loved southern gospel music, George Strait and Nascar racing (where she cheered for Jeff Gordon and had a special talent for telepathically cursing Jimmie Johnson). She was very creative and good at planning and organizing. She loved gardening, animals, cooking, working in the nursery at her church, and volunteering in the church office during the week. She especially loved going on adventures with her daughter and those trips were never complete until they got lost and fought at least once about her daughter’s driving (or her back seat driving, depending upon which one of them you asked).

Ms. Skinner developed a personal relationship with God late in life, but seeds of grace took root and the fruit of the spirit grew quickly. While rare to see, she grew kinder, more patient and attentive to others as she moved along her journey. She finished her race here on earth exceptionally well, and her greatest surprise would be to know the impact that she had on others and how deeply and by how many she will be missed.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 9, at 11:00 am (CDT) at Rivertown Community Church in Blountstown with Pastor Kevin officiating. Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Blountstown.

All arrangements were under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
