OBITUARY - Melvin

Carolyn Melvin, 79, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015, in Panama City.
She was born in Grand Ridge to Clyde and Christanna (Daniels) Mercer May 11, 1936. Carolyn was a certified nurse’s assistant at River Valley Rehabilitation Center for several years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Mercer; her husband, Delbert Melvin; her son, Clinton Juiett Melvin; granddaughter, Shanda Lynn Reese; brother, Charles Mercer; and her sister, Hazel Barbee.
Survivors include her mother, Christanna Mercer, of Cypress; three sons, Lamar Hatcher and his wife, Debbie, of Marianna, Clyde Lee Melvin of Clarksville, and Darryl Melvin, also of Clarksville; three daughters, Debbie Parrish and her husband, Fletcher, of Altha, Shawna Reese of Clarksville, and Tiffany Beiler of Blountstown; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Mercer, of Cypress; and nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, at Traveler’s Rest Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow immediately at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Billy Melvin officiating. Interment will follow in Traveler’s Rest Church Cemetery.
