Mr. John Wesley Ritter IV, 62, of Bristol, Florida, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015, in Bristol.

John was born in Marianna, Florida, on September 14, 1952, to John and Irene Ritter. He had lived in Bristol all of his life. John worked for the State of Florida for 35 years in telecommunications. He was a member of Bristol Church of God and was a former member of the Lion’s Club.

He is survived by his wife, Freida Ritter, of Bristol; one son, John W. Ritter V and wife, Donna Demont Ritter, of Bristol; one brother, David Spence, of Graceville, Florida; one sister, Miriam V. Ritter, of Bristol; a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Day and husband, Larry, of Panama City, Florida’ and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 14, at 11:00 am (EDT), at Bristol Church of God in Bristol with Reverend Terry Blackburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Bristol Church of God Children’s Ministry, P.O. Box 14, Bristol, FL 32321 or Covenant Hospice, Inc., 4215 Kelson Avenue #E, Marianna, FL 32446 (850) 482-8520.

All arrangements were under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
