A Liberty County mother and her daughter were arrested on drug charges Friday.
Kimberly Lynn Price, 48, and Jessica Nicole Pynes, 27, both of Bristol, have been charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
According to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Dep. Phinney responded to the family’s home after a woman reported a foul smell coming from a bedroom shared by her daughter and granddaughter. The woman stated she had small grandchildren and did not want any drugs around them. A book bag containing four small plastic baggies and tin foil fashioned into a boat were discovered. The tin foil had burn marks and drug residue.
As Dep. Phinney started to leave the home, Price and Pynes pulled up in a vehicle with several small children in the backseat. When Pynes saw the deputy carrying the items found in the bedroom, she reportedly hung her head and remarked that the items were hers and she had fallen “off the boat about a month ago and started doing drugs again.”
Pynes reportedly said the drug residue was “Molly” (also known as Ecstasy). “I had four $15 baggies and we smoked it earlier today before going to Wewa to pick up my babies,” Pynes allegedly told the deputy.
Price initially stated the items were not hers, then said the foil and baggies did belong to her and the drug residue was Molly.
Both women were booked into the Liberty County Jail. Bond was set at $3000 for each of them.
