Mr. William James (Bill) Fagen, 63, of Altha, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.

Bill was born Nov. 30, 1945. He was raised in Ormond Beach and later lived in Gainesville, FL. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1967 aboard the U.S.S. Farragut-DLG6. After leaving the Navy, he worked for City Drug Store in Gainesville until 1986. He was employed by the Department of Health in Alachua, Putnam, and Leon counties where he served the public health needs of the community.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Bonnie Childs Fagen; daughters, Jennie Ruth and Molly Maxine Fagen; sisters, Janet Fagen Carlson and husband, Kirk, Marie Fagen Mitchell and husband, Elliott, and Kathie Fagen Johnson; one very special niece, Lindsay Ann Johnson, and husband, Chris Alsup; three nephews, James Fant, Bill Mitchell, and David Johnson.

Memorial services were held Monday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Blountstown United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Blountstown United Methodist Church or Emerald Coast Hospice.

All arrangements were under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
