Mr. Larry Wayne Harris, 57, of Bristol, FL, made his way to be with the Lord on Monday morning, October 27, 2014, at his home in Bristol.
Larry was born on December 7, 1956, in Osceola County, FL, and had lived in Bristol all of his life. He was of the Baptist Faith. Larry worked 23 years for Liberty Post under Alvin Williams, who was his dearest friend and uncle. He loved spending time with his friends and family outdoors, spending as many nights as possible on his “boat house” and watching his Noles win, “cause that’s what they do.”
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jewel Dean Harris, and a brother, Joe Lindsey Harris.
Larry is survived by five sisters and one brother, JoAnn Sims and her husband, Mel, of Tallahassee, FL, Melissa Phinney and her husband, James, of Fountain, FL, Rachael Silcox and her husband, Wesley, of Blountstown, FL, Wade Harris and his wife, Ellen, of Fountain, FL, Gloria Smith and Jeff Uhrick of Bristol, and Sherleen Harris and Bruce Murray of Moody, AL; 20 nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends, family, and other relatives that loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30, at 2:00 pm (EDT) at Lake Mystic Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Chumney officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 29, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm (EDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.
All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
