The Altha Middle School FFA Chapter has been recognized as one of the Top Five Middle School programs in the Nation, and a finalist for the National Outstanding Middle School FFA Chapter Award. Five finalists from across the nation were chosen, and our FFA Chapter was one of them! Our chapter will now travel to the National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY to compete for the title of National Outstanding Middle School.
Our high school chapter was also recognized as a Three-Star Chapter, the highest ranking that the National FFA Organization bestows on an FFA Chapter. The middle school was also a Three-Star Chapter. There are 7,570 FFA Chapters in the country and only 359 were recognized as Three-Star Chapters!
As we look back on our history of success, we also look to the future and our constant commitment to our chapter, school and community. We are grateful for the support of our school, community and advisors who have helped us reach this amazing level. Advisors are Erin Stoutamire Walker and Tyler Stoutamire.
In order to attend the National FFA Convention to compete and receive our awards, it will require us to raise nearly $6,000.00. In order to help raise this money, we will be holding a Chicken Pilau Lunch Fundraiser on Friday, October 10th. The lunch will be held in Blountstown at the corner of Hwy 20 and Hwy 71. Dinners will be served from 10:30am to 1:00 central time. Plates are $6 and can be ordered by calling or stopping by Altha School. We will deliver lunches to Bristol and Calhoun County, to businesses who purchase 6 or more plates. We are grateful to Liberty County School Board member, Doobie Hayes who has volunteered his time to cook the chicken pilau-thank you Mr. Hayes!
With the support and commitment of people like you, we can ensure our community will continue to hold true to American ideals and our future leaders will continue to strive for excellence.
