The old Pelt’s Department Store building in downtown Blountstown is no more.
Demolition crews came in last week and leveled the structure at the corner of Central Avenue and South Pear Street.
The dilapidated building owned by David Margrill had become dangerous after the roof was caving in and repairs were not an option.
The building was a landmark for many years in the community, with the Pelt family and later the Eubanks family offering clothing for the entire family.
In recent years it has served as a flea market and antique mall.
