After a long illness, Amanda Rebecca Workman, age 80, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday morning, July 19, 2014, while at her earthly home.
Praise God! She suffers no more! Amanda was born on January 17, 1934 in Delbarton, WV and had lived in Altha for the past 8 years coming from Moyock, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Workman, a child, parents, siblings and friends. Amanda was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Altha, FL.
Survivors include, a Daughter, Angela Saunders and her husband, Robert of Altha, FL; Sons, Dwayne Workman and his wife, Debbie of Moyock, NC, Carl Workman and his wife, Robin of Chesapeake, VA; Brother, Garland Compton of WV; Sister, Willie Irene Edwards of WV; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather to remember her life and take joy in her homegoing. These gatherings were held at 10:00 am (CDT) Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Altha with Pastor Forrest Parker officiating. Other funeral services will be held Friday, July 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM (EDT) at Moyock Assembly of God Church in Moyock, NC with Reverend Steve Nethery officiating. Interment will be held Friday in Moyock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donation may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice of Marianna, FL or the food pantry of Hillcrest Baptist Church. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
