Bradley Harvell, 82, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 19, 2009, at Shands UF Hospital in Gainesville, Florida ,after a brief illness.

He was born August 27, 1927 in Bristol, Florida. After graduation from Liberty County High School, Bradley joined the U. S. Navy. He was a World War II Veteran and was discharged in 1946. He came home and began his career in the printing business, working for a small hometown newspaper in Blountstown. In 1953, he moved his family to Tallahassee and began work for Dye Printing, where he worked until 1961. In 1961, he became the editor of the Florida Labor Newspaper based in Tallahassee, Florida. He ran the day to day operations of the labor paper until 1970 when he retired from the newspaper and printing business to run the locally popular Slip and Slide Bar located on County Road 333 in Bristol and to play poker, his life’s passion. Bradley loved running the bar, mostly because his friends stopped by the bar to visit on a daily basis. He often told his son and daughter how fortunate he was to have so many good friends and how they took such good care of him.
Bradley’s daughter and son, Dianne and Sam, would like to personally thank each and every one of the wonderful friends that visited him and provided such loving care for him over the years. You will forever be in their hearts and minds.

Bradley was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Mary Bell Harvell; a brother, Vander Lee Harvell; and his former wife, Lorene O’Bryan Harvell.

He is survived by his daughter, Dianne Robinson, and her husband, Patrick, of Tallahassee; a son, Samuel Harvell, and his wife, Nancy Lewis, of Tallahassee; two sisters, Elma Stewart of Blountstown and Selma Guthrie of Keaton Beach, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, at Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol with full military honors. Reverend Lewis Bullard and Reverend David Goodman officiating.
Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements (ph. 643-5401 or online at www.adamsfh.com)

I’m writing to give you my condolences. Words along can not express the hurt and pain one feels when their love one dies. But the bible give us hope that we will see our love one again at John 5:28 &29 “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment”

To the family of Bradley Harvell I send my most
sincere condolences. You do not know me, but I know your family line. Samuel Harvell, born
1884, the father of Bradley, was my father's
first cousin. Samuel Harvell was the son of
William Harvell and Diana Barrett. My father
was the son of Nancy F. Harvell and Henry Eli
Collins.
If this is correct, I would like to hear from you. Forgive me if I am mistaken...and again, I am sorry for your loss.
Frankie
