Results from DNA testing have solved a 2011 burglary case.
James Livingston, 42, of Blountstown, has been charged with burglary of a structure.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, on Nov. 5, 2011, the CCSO responded to a residential burglary. The victim discovered someone broke a window to her pool room and entered the structure, stealing about $4 in loose change. Cpl. Eddie Dalton responded, collected blood evidence and sent it to FDLE for processing.
Finally, the results were matched Feb. 26, 2014, to Livingston. He was interviewed by the CCSO and stated he did not remember entering the pool room, but was friends with the owner’s son and knew where she lived. He further stated he was using drugs heavily at the time and conceded it was possible. He provided a buccal swab sample to FDLE to confirm their results. Another positive match was received May 19, leading to a warrant being issued for Livingston’s arrest.
