The Calhoun County Sheriffs Office announces the arrest of 15-year-old Altha teen on several recent burglaries.
On June 10, while on routine patrol, Deputy Christian Smith discovered that Shelton’s Store had been burglarized. The suspect entered through a window and stole items which included, beer, cigarettes, miscellaneous tobacco products, and E-Cigarettes.
A surveillance camera captured a photo of the suspect who was identified as a teen known to be from Altha.
The teen was located at his home where he admitted to the burglary and turned over the stolen items to investigators.
While at the Sheriffs Office, the teen admitted to the Ace Hardware burglary which occurred on December 24, 2013. Sangster was subsequently turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
The Sheriffs Office was assisted by the Calhoun and Gulf Correctional K-9 teams.
