A Shelton’s Corner man is behind bars after a Friday night call to his home ended with an assault on deputies.

Daniel Creamer, 28, has been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest without violence.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Dep. Nick Keller responded to Creamer’s home on Glory Hill Road just before midnight after complaints from neighbors that Creamer was firing rounds from a high powered rifle and had hit a residence.

Dep. Eddie Dalton, Dep. Bobby Sims, and Dep. Alvin Edenfield were called for backup and were advised that Creamer had been walking around earlier in the day with a ski mask and handgun allegedly stating he was looking for Dep. Dalton and was going to kill him.

Dep. Keller had Creamer in handcuffs and when Dep. Dalton arrived, Creamer reportedly became aggressive and stated, “This is not over. I owe you one and you will get what’s coming to you.”

Lt. Adam Terry arrived on the scene and Creamer reportedly began cursing and threatening him.

While Dep. Keller and Dep. Edenfield attempted to gain control of Creamer, he reportedly hit Dep. Edenfield in the face with his elbow. As Dep. Dalton assisted, Creamer allegedly head-butted him.

Several weapons were seized from Creamer’s home including an AR 15 223 assault rifle and several hundred rounds of ammunition. A bunker dug beneath a shed in Creamer’s yard was located with several hundred pounds of food and four firearms. Creamer advised he was preparing for the apocalypse.
