Mr. Odis Chapman, 82, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at his home.
Odis was born in Calhoun County and had lived here for most of his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army with over 20 years of service, serving during the Vietnam Conflict as a Sargent Major.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Effie Chapman, wife, Carolyn Chapman, 2 brothers, Curtis Chapman and Charles (Coot) Chapman, grandson, Jason Matthew Clinton, and daughter-in-law, Dianne Chapman.
Survivors include his son, Gary Chapman, of Blountstown; daughter, Phyllis Clinton, of Blountstown; three grandchildren, Shawna Koulesser, Bryan Jones and Zachary Chapman; and eight great-grandchildren, Waymond Koulesser, Gisella Crespo, Saniya Faith Tyler, Saeed Tyler, Justin Chapman, Brandon Jackson, Destiny Jones and Lillix Jones.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, at 2:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Varnes officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Friday, April 18, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.
