On Thursday, February 6, a pine straw contractor, along with the property owner, discovered that his tractor was missing from the property located on Shelton Road (west of Clarksville). A truck was also located. The Calhoun Co. Sheriff’s Office was notified of the stolen tractor and suspicious vehicle.
Deputies made contact with a subject in the truck. It was discovered during the field interview that the subject was carrying a hand gun on his body. Information was also gathered that there was at least one other person involved who had driven the tractor away. Calhoun and Gulf C.I. K-9 units arrived to help establish a track. The tractor was located approximately 600 yards north of where it was taken, in a wooded area. CCSO, Calhoun and Gulf C.I. K-9 units, and FWC officers continued to pursue the suspect, but called off the search around 11 p.m. when the track was lost.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning, a Calhoun County resident contacted Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and informed them he had run a subject away from a vehicle on his property. A deputy arrived on the scene and apprehended the subject. On the way to the jail, the subject told the deputy there was another subject involved and disclosed where his friend could be located. Deputies searched and cleared the building. The third subject has not been located at this time. Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Calhoun and Gulf C.I. K-9 units are continuing to search. Calhoun Co. Sheriff’s Office helicopter is also being utilized in the search.
