A Blountstown woman escaped from custody Monday morning before being booked into the Calhoun County Jail.
Angela Dianne Mickel, 42, has been charged with stalking, violation of conditional release, failure to appear, possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, plus a new charge of escape.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Mickel was being arrested on a warrant and was taken to Calhoun-Liberty Hospital for medical treatment before being booked into the jail.
While at the hospital, she requested permission to go to the restroom, then fled out of the back door of the facility.
K-9 units from Calhoun Correctional Institution joined Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies and Blountstown Police Department officers in a search for Mickel. She was quickly apprehended at the intersection of 11th Street and Hwy. 71 North.
