Altha FFA had a great showing at the 2013 District Forestry Career Development Event. The first place teams will advance to the State Contest in November.

Several students also placed individually in the event:

Cody Finuff: 1st place Map Interpretation, 2nd place General Forestry Knowledge Exam

Johnny Aaron: 2nd place Map Interpretation, 3rd place Equipment ID

Claire Price: 1st Place Timber Cruising

Michelle Aaron: 1st Place Map Interpretation, 2nd Tree ID, 2nd Forest Disorders, 3rd Place Equipment ID

Kalista Jackson: 1st Place Tree ID, 3rd Forest Disorders

The purpose of the Forestry CDE is to stimulate interest in forestry, to promote forestry instruction in the agricultural education curriculum, and to provide recognition for those who have demonstrated skill and competency as a result of forestry instruction.

Altha FFA Advisors are Tyler Stoutamire and Erin Stoutamire Walker. Great job, Altha FFA!
