OBITUARY - White

Sam Laymon White, age 70, of Altha, Florida passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
Laymon was born in Altha September 4, 1942 to the late Sam and Elon (Bracewell) White. He retired on August 30, 2004 from the City of Blountstown after forty-three years of service. Laymon was a dedicated member of Victory Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a deacon for more than twenty years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Sam and Elon White; two brothers, Barney Travis and Broze White; and a sister, Vernell White Trickey.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Linda White of Altha; two sons, Sam White, Jr. and wife Kandi and Gary White and wife Sonya Lee, both of Altha; grandchildren, David White and wife Maria, Tiffany White, Christopher White and wife Jennifer, Christa White, Hunter Bown, Cody Bown, Landon Moore, Sierra Moore; and one great-grandchild, Michael David White; five sisters, Marlene Backhoff, Delzia Free and husband Addis, Ruth Attaway, Luzetta Curry and husband Bill, Peggy Russ and husband Ricky; and one brother, Nick White and wife Shirley.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22 at Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, August 23 at Victory Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Altha with Robert Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Victory Hill Cemetery.
