A Fountain woman was arrested this week after blood work revealed she was intoxicated during an accident earlier this year. The single vehicle crash resulted in injuries to herself and two young passengers.
Vinnie Lee Stallings, 45, has been charged with DUI with property damage/injury, driving with an expired license and culpable negligence inflicting harm.
According to Lt. Steve Preston of the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred March 16 at 9:35 a.m. Stallings was reportedly eastbound on CR 274, just west of Apache Road, when the 1998 Mazda pickup she was driving drifted to the south shoulder. Stallings got the vehicle back on the road, but the truck began to rotate, traveling to the north shoulder, impacting several small trees and overturning.
Stallings and passenger, Logan Stallings, 6, were both ejected. Another passenger, Sharlee Stephens, 12, was also injured. All three were transported to Bay Medical Center for treatment.
Blood was drawn and Vinnie Stallings was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash. In addition, seatbelts were not being worn by the occupants.
