Governor Rick Scott is seeking applications to fill the vacancy created by the suspension of Liberty County School Superintendent Gloria Gay Uzzell.
As reported last week, Uzzell, 51, was arrested July 17 on charges of one count of grand theft, one count of official misconduct and one count of failing to disclose information in a public records request.
Kathy Nobles, who Uzzell had made director of administration, has been named acting superintendent until a permanent appointment is made by Gov. Scott.
Arraignment for Uzzell is set for Monday, August 5, at 9 a.m. in the Liberty County Courthouse.
