Uzzell
BRISTOL – Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Tallahassee Regional Operations Center and State Attorney Willie Meggs obtained a warrant for the arrest of Gloria Gay Uzzell, 51, of Bristol, Fla., earlier today on one count of grand theft, one count of official misconduct and one count of failing to disclose information in a public records request.

The investigation shows Uzzell opened a credit card in the name of the Liberty County School Board without its approval or knowledge. Investigators allege she made numerous personal purchases on the Visa card including clothing, lodging, lingerie, fuel, beauty supplies and alcohol.

Investigators believe Uzzell altered the credit card statements, blacking out personal purchases and changing travel vouchers to match her credit card purchases. She is accused of making more than $2,000 in personal charges on the credit card.

Uzzell turned herself into the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office around 1 p.m. today and was booked into the Liberty County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Uzzell was elected as Liberty County School Superintendent in November 2012.

The State Attorney’s Office, 2nd Judicial Circuit will prosecute this case.

No word on who will be appointed interim superintendent.

Bad karma in Liberty County since April 4, 2012. In my heart of hearts, this bad karma will continue until justice is served.

Amen to that!! We all know those behind all of this are very well in with the FDLE!!

Why is it always a conspiracy? I'm just curious who you think is "in" with FDLE? Was it the bank employee that gave her the credit card application? maybe it was the clerk at Dillards or Pier park. Wait...I know...it was the hotel desk clerks. FDLE is very clever to have put these people in place! Bottom line: she broke the law many times and violated a trust of office. She tried to hide it by altering official records. She is very fond of saying "it's about the children." This time, she's correct. The children are the ones who will suffer for her ill deeds.

It is not surprising that most of you who back our recently arrested "former superintendent" continue to support this poor excuse for an elected official. It is truly sad to see the days of accountabiltiy gone right down the drain.

She is a sociopath; she has no regard for the outcome of her actions. I say this as a professional. I have been in the Mental Health field since 1996.
If I could ask her one question it would be this: where did you think that the money to pay for your shopping sprees would come from? Liberty County school system is broke.

I can't even believe some people will post on here that this is an FDLE conspiracy or whatever. She is a thief and she stole from the school system. It is that plain and simple. She will get what is coming to her!
