Ruth Eleanor Mullin, 89, of Blountstown, Florida, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Marianna, Florida.
Ruth was born in Freeport, Illinois, February 21, 1924, to the late Otto Carl and Clara (Buck) Ketelhut. She served in the United States Navy during World War II and later retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company where she worked as a long distant operator. Ruth was a born again Christian who dedicated her life to helping others and telling them about Jesus. She was a member of Travelers Rest Free Will Baptist Church in Clarksville, Florida, where she taught Sunday School, helped in prison ministry, and also was a volunteer at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Carl; and sisters, Gertrude, Pauline, Helen and Dorothy.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Mullin of Blountstown and Timothy Mullin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Charolette Januse, of Altha, Florida; two grandchildren; and a brother, Roger Ketelhut, of Wanawa, Wisconsin.
Ruth was not just a mother, but also a friend to her children and will be missed more than any words could ever express.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at Travelers Rest Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Williams officiating. Interment followed in Travelers Rest Cemetery with full military honors.
Adams Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements (ph. 674-5449). Online condolences may be made at adamsfh.com.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss and I would like to offer you my condolences. I can understand your frustrations and pains in your heart with this world and why we should have hope because I used to feel the same way. But keep in mind that God is always there to keep us going and He will never leave us especially in times like this.
