Calhoun County School Board Reduce Their Salary

For the second straight year, Calhoun County School Board members have voted unanimously to reduce their own salary.

Board member Danny Hassig, district 5, suggested the board members reduce their own pay by 10 percent due to the touch economic times. His motion was seconded by Tim Smith of district 3 and carried unanimously.

School board member pay was set at $24,243 for the year. With the 10 percent cut, they will now be making $21,819. The savings will go into the general fund to help the budget.

ALL county employees ought to have there pays cut until the budget is fixed
