Ricky Lynn McMillion departed this life on May 1, 2013, in Panama City, Florida at Bay Medical Center.
He was the third of four children and birthed to Lauris and Arnold McMillion on August 31, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Living most of his life in Wewahitchka, he was a devoted husband and an astounding father of three. As an established and well respected member of the community, Ricky was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He would drop any personal task to provide aid, love, and care for family, friends, or neighbors.
Without a lick of shyness, Ricky never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone standing at his side. He left behind an everlasting legacy of love and wisdom to all he came into contact with.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lauris Mixon and Arnold McMillion, and eldest sister, Karen Strickland.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Janet McMillion; son, Derrick, and wife, Crystal McMillion; son, Damon McMillion; daughter, Delaney McMillion; granddaughter, Harley Boyatt; older sister, Phyllis Cox; younger brother, Arnie McMillion; and stepfather, Elvin Mixon, who all reside in Wewahitchka, and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ricky will be remembered by all the love he shared throughout his life and the kindness within his tender heart. Although he is gone from this Earth, he will never leave our hearts.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 4, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 138 East Orange Avenue, Wewahitchka, FL, with Pastor Derek Gerber and Pastor Joey Smith officiating. Interment followed at Buckhorn Cemetery.
