Mrs. Ada LuVern Whitaker (Jean) Murray, 72, of Port Saint Joe, FL, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at her home.
Jean was born on September 13, 1940, in Telogia, FL, and had lived in Port Saint Joe since 1970. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mexico Beach, FL.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Julia Adella (Whitaker) Nowling and Willie Albert Whitaker, and a daughter, Minnie Lavern Bishop.
Survivors include a son, James Wheeler Murray, and Cinnamon Smith of Carrabelle, FL; three daughters, Charlene Wimberly and David Pickron of Port Saint Joe, Norma Murray and Allan Burgess of Panama City, FL, and Rhonda Murray and Mack Gay of Port Saint Joe; a sister, Hazel Smith, of Port Saint Joe; a son in law, Wayne Bishop, of Youngstown, FL; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, at 12:30 pm CT at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel. Memorialization will be by cremation.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 11, from 12:00 p.m. CT until service time at 12:30 CT at Peavy Funeral Home.
