Linda Loretta Clemmons Coxwell, 82, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
Mrs. Coxwell was born in Altha, Florida, on June 20, 1930, to Dewey Lee and Ruby Barber Clemmons. Mrs. Coxwell lived in Blountstown, Florida, until moving to Crawfordville, Florida, and then to Thomasville, Georgia. After retiring, she, her husband, and their son, Sammy, returned to Crawfordville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Reverend Samuel Ancil Cowell; their son, Samuel Ancil Coxwell, Jr.; her parents; and her sister, Hilda Clemmons Alford.
Mrs. Coxwell was the loving wife of a Southern Baptist minister. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, gardening, growing prize winning roses, arranging flowers, sewing, taking annual trips to the mountains, and cooking for her family and members of her church. Most of all, she loved caring for her home and family. She will be remembered for her beauty, her love of Jesus Christ, her homemade desserts and homegrown vegetables, and her fluffy, hot biscuits.
Survivors include her son, Ashley, and his wife, Melissa, of Callahan, Florida; her daughter, Dr. Deborah Coxwell-Teague, and her husband, Everett, of Tallahassee, Florida; her daughter, Alicia Crittenden, and her husband, Bill, of Acworth, Georgia; her sister, Juanita Clemmons Temple, of Callahan, and her brother, Dewey Lee Clemmons, Jr., and his wife, Talitha, of Williamsburg, Virginia. Mrs. Coxwell was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren, two great-grandsons, a niece, and several nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Crawfordville Cemetery in Crawfordville at 10:30 a.m. (ET), Monday, March 11.
Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements (phone 674-5449). Online condolences may be made at adamsfh.com.
