CITY OF BLOUNTSTOWN NOTICE TO RECEIVE SEALED BIDS

The City of Blountstown will receive sealed bids from any qualified person, company or corporation interested in constructing:

SAM ATKINS PAR
WATER TANK REPAIRS

This project consists of the removal and replacement of all the roof panels and bolts on an existing AquaStore 100,000 gallon ground storage potable water tank. The roof consists of 33 inner ring panels and 33 outer ring panels with one manway hatch and one vent. The contractor will be required to remove and replace the aerator assembly.


Plans and specifications can be obtained from the City of Blountstown, 20591 Central Avenue Wes t, Blountstown, Florida 32424, (850) 674-5488. The bid must conform to Section 287.133(3) Florida Statutes, on public entity crimes.

Bids will be received until 4:00 p.m.CST, on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Blountstown City Hall, 20591 Central Avenue West, Blountstown, Florida 32424, and will be opened and read publicly on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 as soon as possible after 6:00 p.m. CST at 17276 NW Angle St. All Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Sealed Bid – SAM ATKINS PARK WATER TANK REPAIRS”.

Completion date for this project will be 20 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed presented to the successful bidder.

Liquidated damages for failure to complete the project on the specified date will be set at $750.00 per day.

The City of Blountstown reserves the right to waive informalities in any bid, to accept and/or reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in their judgment will be in the best interest of the City.

STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES
“SHIP PROGRAM”

The Calhoun Board of County Commissioners will accept sealed bids on behalf of its State Housing Initiatives Partnership “SHIP” Program for the rehabilitation on houses until 12:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, February 19, 2012. Bids may be delivered to the Clerk’s Office in the Calhoun County Courthouse, Blountstown, Florida 32424. Bids must arrive before deadline. Bids will be opened at 5:00 p.m. or as soon afterwards as possible. Bids must be sealed in an envelope marked “sealed bid for ship rehab” and identified by the name of the firm, and the date and time of the bid opening.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. local time in room 117 in the Calhoun County Building Department located on the 1st floor of the Calhoun County Courthouse. Bid sheets and specifications will be available at the meeting. It is the responsibility of the contractor to purchase all permits deemed necessary. Bidders must provide proof of general liability and workman’s compensation insurance in the bid package. The insurance must be in force at the time of the bid opening. As an alternative to providing workman’s compensation insurance, the prospective bidder shall provide proof of worker’s compensation exemption. Any person claiming to be exempt shall be subject to an on-the-job inspection for proof of exemption and license of all workers on job site.

Minority contractors are encouraged to participate. Calhoun County is an equal opportunity jurisdiction. CITY OF BLOUNTSTOWN 2013 ROADSIDE BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT

This project consists of delivering 150 each container grown crape myrtle plants to the City of Blountstown’s Public Works compound at 17262 NW Angle Street, Blountstown, FL 32424

Specifications can be obtained from the City of Blountstown, 20591 Central Avenue West, Blountstown, Florida 32424, (850) 674-5488. The bid must conform to Section 287.133(3) Florida Statutes, on public entity crimes.

Bids will be received until 4:00 p.m.CST, on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Blountstown City Hall, 20591 Central Avenue West, Blountstown, Florida 32424, and will be opened and read publicly on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 as soon as possible after 6:00 p.m. CST at 17276 NW Angle St. All Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Sealed Bid – CITY OF BLOUNTSTOWN 2013 ROADSIDE BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT”.

Delivery of the plants must occur within 15 calendar days from the date the Notice of Award is presented to the successful bidder.
