The Blountstown Police Department is investigating alleged dog poisonings that have reportedly occurred in recent weeks.

According to a BPD report, at least two dogs owned by separate families died last week from allegedly being poisoned. One of the dog owners told Lt. Fred Tanner Jan. 14 he noticed his dog appeared to have been fed hot dogs by someone, a food he never gives his pets. A visit to a veterinarian confirmed the dog had been poisoned.

A woman in a neighboring house had a similar report the same day. By the following day, her dog was dead.

Neighbors are now reporting as many as 10 dogs are missing or have been poisoned.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the BPD at 674-5987.

I have 5- 5 months old puppies poised on Isoletta Road, in altha, near Mossy Pond, and my neighbor had 2 poisoned. You know something is wrong with your pet, when, one day they are heatlthy and the next day they can't even open their mouth to drink water....SO SAD..But Karma comes back around..You do mean to others...it comes back to you, maybe not today...but one day!
