Newly elected officials in both Calhoun and Liberty counties will be taking the reigns over the next couple weeks.
In Calhoun County, Clerk of Court Ruth Attaway is beginning her retirement resulting in Carla Hand being sworn in a few days early. Hand is set to take her oath of office Jan. 2.
There’s a new sheriff in town. Glenn Kimbrel is preparing to take over as law enforcement leader for Calhoun County with a swearing in ceremony set for Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 10:30 a.m. in the Calhoun County Courthouse courtroom.
In Liberty County, another new sheriff, Nick Finch, will also be taking his oath of office in a private ceremony set for midnight Jan. 1 as Donnie Conyers is retiring Dec. 31. Public swearing in of new Liberty officials is Jan. 8.
