A Blountstown man is accused of stealing a car, taking it to Panama City, then crashing it.
Gary Bernard Jordan, 33, was arrested just after midnight Monday for vehicle theft. He is also charged with battery.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged vehicle theft and accident came to light when Dep. Jody Hoagland responded to a Pine Street home late Sunday night. Jordan was accused of poking a female in the face several times during an argument. It was then revealed that the argument was over Jordan taking a woman in the home’s car without permission. Another witness stated Jordan came to her Panama City apartment asking her to bring him back to Blountstown because he had just been involved in an accident and fled the scene.
Jordan is being held in the Calhoun County Jail with bond set at $11,000.
