A Kinard man has been charged with grand theft auto after showing up a friend’s house naked, then allegedly stealing his pickup truck.
Waylon Porter, 34, was taken into custody last week on the charges stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred the night of Sept 8. According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, a SR 73 resident said Porter arrived at his door with a female, both completely nude. Porter asked for a ride, stating someone was chasing him, trying to kill him with a shotgun. After giving the couple towels, the man agreed to give them a ride.
They loaded up in his truck, then the man decided to go back inside to get his girlfriend and children. When he returned, Porter had taken his truck. It was later found crashed.
Porter and his female companion had fled the scene. Evidence was collected, leading to his arrest.
