Volunteers from Poplar Head Baptist Church in Clarksville were busy Monday morning packing the last load of shoeboxes for the Operation Christmas Child sendoff.
Churches from around the region joined the worldwide Samaritan’s Purse effort, with Calhoun and Jackson countians collecting over 1400 shoeboxes for needy children across the globe!
That’s an increase of over 1000 boxes from the 2011 drive! The boxes were filled with a variety of toys, candy, eating utensils, and toiletries. Each child will also receive a colorful booklet detailing the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, interpreted in their language.
