A registered nurse from Sneads was arrested last Tuesday, charged with aggravated abuse and neglect of the elderly.
Jessica Maria Bailey, 32, was booked into the Calhoun County Jail on a warrant issued in June.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Capt. Mark Mallory responded to an investigative report from the Department of Health indicating Bailey’s supervisor at River Valley Rehabilitation Center in Blountstown was concerned about Bailey’s behavior, suspecting she could be under the influence. Bailey was confronted by supervisors, then bolted down a hallway and fled the facility.
While authorities searched for Bailey, her supervisor secured Bailey’s medication cart and realized she had failed to dispense medications to patients as scheduled hours prior, putting them at risk.
Bailey was spotted coming out of bushes near the facility and into a vehicle with a man. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
